Trains part 2

Hi, guys, it's is me Kaito you know how I did a blog post about what I have been doing to entertain my self in this lockdown well, this is part 2 of it hope you like it!😊

HIKARI RAILSTAR is the name of a high-speed train service running on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen bullet train" lines in Japan. Slower than the premier NOZOMI but faster than the all-stations Kodama, the Hikari is the fastest train service on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen that can be used with the Japan rail pass.

Class D51  is a type of 2-8-2 steam locomotive built by the Japanese Government  Railways (JGR), the Japanese National Railways (JNR), and various manufacturers from 1936 to 1945.

The Yamanote Line is a railway loop line in Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It is one of Tokyo's busiest and most important lines, connecting most of Tokyo's major stations and urban centers, including Marunouchi, the Yurakocho/Ginza area, Shinagawa Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Ueno, with all but two of its 30 stations connecting to other railway or underground (subway) lines. As an official line name, "Yamanote Line" indicates the tracks between Shinagawa and Tabata via Shinjuku that are used by local trains on their own tracks as well as the parallel Yamanote Freight Line which is used by Sakio line and Shonan Shinjuku line trains, some limited express services, and freight trains. However, in everyday usage, the "Yamanote Line" refers to the entire 34.5 km loop line served by local trains. (This article uses the same definition unless noted otherwise.)

The Tsubasa is a high-speed Shinkansen train service operated on the Yamagata Shinkansen by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) since July 1992. The name was formerly used for a limited express service operated by Japanese National Railways (JNR) and later by JR East, which ran from Ueno to Akita, and was discontinued in 1992 when the new shinkansen service commenced.

The E4 series is a high-speed Shinkansen train type operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in Japan. They were the second series of completely bi-level Shinkansen trainsets to be built in Japan (the other being the E1 series MAX). They operate on the Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen, and occasionally on the Nagano Shinkansen. E4 series trains feature double-decker cars to accommodate additional commuter traffic around Tokyo and other urban areas. They were often coupled to 400series trains on the Tohoku shinkansen between Tokyo and Fukushima before the latter retired in April 2010. Two eight-car sets can be coupled together for extra capacity: a sixteen-car E4 series formation trainset carries a total of 1,634 seated passengers, the highest-capacity high-speed rail trainset in the world. 26 units were built between 1997 and 2003. As with the earlier E1 series trains, the maximum speed is 240 km/h (150 mph).

Doctor Yellow is the nickname for the high-speed test trains that are used on the Japanese Shinkansen ("Bullet Train") dedicated express passenger train routes. The trains have special equipment on board to monitor the condition of the track and Overhead wire, including specially instrumented bogies and observation blisters. The "Doctor" part of the name is from their test and diagnostic function, and the "Yellow" part comes from the bright yellow color they are all painted. Some have a blue waistline stripe, some a green one. The original color scheme of yellow with a blue stripe (applied to the Class 921 track-recording cars) was created by reversing the colors (blue with yellow stripe) used on 1,607 mm (3 ft 6 in) narrow gauge track-recording cars. In build and appearance, they are very similar to production, passenger carrying Shinkansen trains, and line inspection is carried out at full line speed (i.e. up to 270 km/h or 168 mph on the TokaidoShinkansen.

  1. Hi Kaito, The train track you made looks fantastic,I bet it took a long time to put all the track together. Did you enjoy putting in the train station and the other things along the track? I wonder if you can make some tunnels for the train to go through? Perhaps you could make some from recycling things.

  3. Ohayō gozaimasu, Kaito. I loved travelling on the different trains whilst I was in Japan. I especially liked the Bullet Trains, you definitely didn't feel that you were going as fast as you were. I heard a fact about the bullet trains whilst over in Japan and that was that if an earthquake happens while a train is moving that the technology in the trains allow them to stop safely in a hurry. Did you know this? Also, is that a model bullet train in the front of your video?
